The "Holly Armstrong" Table

On Friday 18 May the School was honoured and proud to host the dedication ceremony for the new picnic table in memory of Baston Old Girl Holly Armstrong.

Holly Armstrong was a pupil at Baston School in the 1970's.  Shortly after leaving here she was diagnosed with MS and sadly died in her mid twenties in 1987.  Several of her school friends, two of whom now have their own daughters in the school, decided to present a picnic table to the school in Holly's memory.  The table duly was dedicated in front of the current girls on 18 May.  Those present at the ceremony and pictured below include Mrs Connie Armstrong, Holly's mother (left), with Holly's sister, Karen (front right) and her son Ewan (striped shirt), three of Holly's school friends and family, Mrs Wimble, Holly's headmistress, together with Miss Greenwood, the Headmistress and Mr Wimble, the Principal.

The school is very grateful to Beverley Sheikh nee Robson, Ann Inwood nee Brookman,  Amanda Silcock nee Willison (all pictured above) and Joanne Shepherd,  Laura Goodliffe and Mr & Mrs John and June Robson for their donation of this commemorative table.
