BASTON BULLETIN

A fortnightly report of events in the School

28 September 2007

NEWS FROM THE EARLY YEARS   The Early Years celebrated Harvest Festival with their parents on Wednesday 26 September.  The girls were quite captivated with the Rev Sue Powell’s Harvest message – and were amazed by how many ‘bugs’ can be found in a lettuce!  Reception parents were delighted with their daughters’ reading of ‘The Harvest Poem’ and the Kindergarten girls raised the roof with their exuberant singing!  Home made bread was shared at the closing of the Harvest Festival.  A representative from the Bromley Women’s Refuge was delighted and very grateful with the donation of Harvest gifts and thanked you all very much.

CAKE AND BISCUIT SALE   Year 9 got off to an extremely first-rate start for the Senior Cake & Biscuit sales.  Thank you to everyone who has contributed both in making and buying the cakes – the staff and girls certainly enjoyed eating them!  £35.72 will go towards our fund-raising efforts to buy Christmas presents for the elderly at Isard House in Hayes.

TESCO SPORT FOR SCHOOLS   We have until 4 November to collect as many vouchers as possible.  The selection of sports equipment and coaching sessions is extremely wide-ranging and it is possible for us to get good exchange value.  So if you could ask family members and friends to donate their vouchers as well - it will make all the difference.  Thank you.
